U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin receiving fly plate award custom made by Mark Roth with trout print by Dan Burr presented at his last public speech while in office at the annual Bretton Woods Committee Conference, Washington D.C. - June 9, 1999. (Click here to view text of the award) These are custom jobs done in the past since about 1990, shown for illustration purposes, and are not available for sale. However, you can order a custom job based on these designs...see price schedule below, and inquire for pricing.
Fly & Art Mounting & Framing:
If you would like custom work done, please allow enough lead time to complete your project; I do all the work myself and it takes time to plan and finish your job in a workmanlike manner. I cannot accept 'rush' orders, or multiple items needing to be framed by certain drop-dead dates without reasonable advance notice, along with a 25% deposit prior to work beginning of estimated final cost. Please plan accordingly...Thanks! To select a custom made fly plate to your specifications: 1. It's easiest if you call first or contact me with a phone # to call you so we can discuss what you have in mind, and can come up with a general idea over the phone. It is simply not possible to go back and forth via e-mails with generalizations; I need to speak with you in person first, so please have an idea of what you would like, how many flies, artwork if any, etc. If you could jot down a sketch if possible of your idea (very helpful), or at least have a list of everything so we have a baseline to work from. Then I can sit down and come up with a general design, and get back to you for approval. Keep in mind how many flies you have, artwork, signature cards by the flytier, etc. 2. Decide on a fly plate with just flies, or with angling art or photo to be included, which you will ship here before the job begins. 3. Select style of flies, how many, and which patterns. 4. Send inquiry, and a quote will be returned. 5. Custom orders under $300 require a $75 deposit (over $300 = 25% deposit), with the balance along with actual shipping via Fedex Ground or Air, your choice at shipping time. Custom orders are non-refundable/returnable unless an error is made at this end on the workmanship. Price Schedule:1.) Framing: Includes solid polished cherry frame, museum-quality rag mat, hand-drawn French lines, materials, glass, and hardware. Base framing charge: $5.00 per united inch. Example: 13 x 17" frame = 30 united inches. 30 x $5 = $150 base charge. 2.) Flies: (if purchased). Cost varies per fly, please inquire. I tie trout, hairwing salmon, or steelhead flies. Victorian full dress salmon flies are no longer available...I don't tie them anymore! 3.) Fly Mounting: Add $1.50 per fly. You can either purchase flies here, or send your flies to be framed. 4.) Labeling: (optional) For standard hand-scribed labeling (name below fly), add $1 per fly. Deluxe fly labeling for larger salmon, steelhead, or streamer flies: $5 per hand-made 1" wood label. (Be sure to include identification for each fly submitted.) For a larger custom label add $10 per label. (Includes a 2"-4" wood label with typeset text of your choice.) 5.) Photo or Art Mounting: add $5 small (3.5 x 5"); $10 medium (up to 8 x 12"); $20 large (over 8 x 12"). All art is mounted with acid-free archival hinges on acid-free foam core. 6.)
